BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Heading into this weekend, eleven Southeastern Conference track and field teams are among the nation’s top-25 squads, according to the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Team Rankings, released earlier this week by the New Orleans-based organization.
The SEC holds the top three spots on the men’s side with Arkansas at No. 1, two-time defending NCAA Indoor Champion Florida at No. 2 and LSU at No. 3. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are 17th and 18th, respectively, while Georgia checks in at No. 22 and Auburn at No. 25.
The SEC boasts two of the top three teams on the women’s side with LSU at No. 2 and Arkansas at No. 3. Tennessee is No. 18 and Georgia is No. 19.
The majority of SEC teams will be at a trio of meets this weekend – the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York, the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind., and the Virginia Tech Elite Meet in Blacksburg, Va.
