Hladik, Moir Named Davis SEC Leaders Of The Year

University of Missouri swimmer Joseph Hladik and University of Kentucky golfer Megan Moir have been named the 2012-13 Brad Davis Southeastern Conference Community Service Leaders of the Year, Commissioner Mike Slive announced Thursday. The two were chosen by a committee of Faculty Athletics Representatives from SEC universities. Each will receive a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship, provided by the SEC.

SEC Names McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Award Nominees

Twenty-eight Southeastern Conference student-athletes – one male and one female from each of the SEC’s 14 institutions - have been nominated for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Award, it was announced Wednesday. Each year, the SEC, in conjunction with AT&T, an SEC Corporate Champion, provides the league’s male and female McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship recipients with a $15,000 post-graduate scholarship. The 26 remaining male and female finalists for the award will also receive a $7,500 post-graduate scholarship.
