Jerome Seagears, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound rising junior guard who played two seasons at Rutgers, has transferred to Auburn, head coach Tony Barbee announced on Wednesday. Auburn is petitioning to the NCAA for him to be eligible for this upcoming season.Seagears averaged 6.5 points, 2.6 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 27.2 minutes in playing all 31 games as a sophomore last year for Rutgers, starting 19. He shot 37.0 percent from the floor, 38.1 percent from 3-point range and 73.8 percent from the foul line. He scored a career-high 21 points at Connecticut on a career-best 4-of-7 3-pointers and had 15 points and seven rebounds vs. DePaul in the Big East Tournament.

Kentucky has announced its 2013-14 men's basketball non-conference schedule. The schedule features a season-opening game in Rupp Arena against UNC-Asheville on Nov. 8 followed by a home date on Nov. 10 against Northern Kentucky. It marks the first time since the 2009-10 season the Wildcats open at home with multiple games.
