2012-13 SEC Revenue Distribution
The Southeastern Conference will distribute approximately $289.4 million to the 14 league institutions in the revenue sharing plan for the 2012-13 fiscal year, which ends Aug. 31, 2013, according to league commissioner Mike Slive.

SEC Working Group On Concussions Update
In June of 2012, the SEC Presidents and Chancellors formed a “Working Group on Concussions,” charged with reviewing available research, evaluating diagnosis guidelines, identifying standards of care, and analyzing issues related to a student-athlete’s return to activity following a concussion. The Working Group represents a commitment by the Conference to put the health and safety of its student athletes at the forefront as a first priority. Full Story

SEC Appoints Herb Vincent Associate Commissioner
The Southeastern Conference announced Friday that Herb Vincent has been hired as Associate Commissioner for Communications for the league. Vincent currently serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Senior Associate Athletics Director at Louisiana State University. He will begin his new role with the SEC in September. Full Story

Wuerffel’s The Class Of The ’13 HOF Class
News reached Danny Wuerffel a couple of weeks ago that he had been voted into the College Football Hall of Fame. It could have been easy for Danny to take it in stride, almost expect the honor. After all, the former University of Florida quarterback and 1996 Heisman Trophy winner who led the Gators to their first national championship that season, is regarded as one of the best players in SEC history. SEC And ESPN Announce New TV Network
The Southeastern Conference and ESPN have signed a 20-year agreement through 2034 to create and operate a multiplatform network, which will launch in August 2014, it was announced today by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive and ESPN President John Skipper. Full Story

Tennessee Names Butch Jones Head Coach
The University of Tennessee announced today that Butch Jones has been hired as the 24th head football coach of the Vols. Jones owns a 50-27 record (.649) in six seasons as a head coach and joins UT from the University of Cincinnati, where he finished with a 23-14 record (.657) in three seasons with the Bearcats.
