Committing to play tennis for the University of Florida back in October 2008 will forever be one of the best decisions Lauren Embree has ever made. As her storied journey at Florida comes to an end late this month, Embree will surely be remembered as one of college tennis’ all-time greats.

SEC And ESPN Announce New TV Network
The Southeastern Conference and ESPN have signed a 20-year agreement through 2034 to create and operate a multiplatform network, which will launch in August 2014, it was announced today by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive and ESPN President John Skipper.

A Different Kind Of Opponent
Senior Ole Miss men’s tennis player Jonas Lutjen estimates he’s played in over 5,000 matches throughout his life. He has been ranked as high as No. 4 in juniors in Germany and as high as No. 5 in collegiate tennis, all while living with Type 1 diabetes.

SECDN Flashback: Family First For Diaz
Manny Diaz could hardly believe his eyes.The Georgia head men’s tennis coach, whose decorated resume could probably rival the Atlanta phone book in thickness if he were to list each and every one of his accomplishments, was visiting with college teammate Bill Kopecky (with whom he teamed to win the 1974 Southeastern Conference No. 1 doubles title) prior to the start of the 2011-12 season, when Kopecky showed him a photograph.

Jarryd Wallace: Running Forward
Jarryd Wallace made the 2012 Paralympics one of his primary goals on the same day that he decided to have elective surgery to have his leg amputated. Wallace, a one-time University of Georgia track and field signee and the son of Georgia women’s tennis coach Jeff Wallace, had a promising future in his chosen sport.

Razorback women’s tennis, soccer help Habitat for Humanity
On Saturday morning, members of the Razorback women’s tennis and soccer teams, along with staff from the academic and student-athlete development department, took part in a Habitat for Humanity project to build a house for a community member. The group spent an entire morning working on the lot in Springdale to construct a new home.

Kentucky's Emery Retires from Coaching
University of Kentucky men's tennis head coach Dennis Emery, who recently finished his 30th season at the helm of the UK tennis program, has announced his retirement from coaching and promoted to special assistant to the athletic director, UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart announced Monday.
