Vanderbilt’s Brad Tinsley was named SEC Player of the Week after he notched the first triple-double in the 110-year history of Vanderbilt basketball with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in a win over Presbyterian. The 10 rebounds and 10 assists were a career high, and the 10 assists was the most by a Commodore player since Alex Gordon dished out 10 against Furman on November 20, 2005.

Terrence Jones

Kentucky’s Terrence Jones was named SEC Freshman of the Week after registering 25 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks in a season-opening win over East Tennessee State. Jones became the first UK freshman to begin his career with a double-double since Jules Camara in the 1998-99 season. He is only the second freshman in school history with a 20-10 game in his debut.
