    Vanderbilt’s John Jenkins was named SEC Player of the Week after he averaged 26.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in wins over Alabama and No. 18 Kentucky. He scored a career-high 32 points in a win over Kentucky on Saturday, while also setting a new career-high in field goals made (11) and tying a career-high in three-pointers made. His 32-point performance is the Commodores’ first 30-point performance since 2009, and it was Vanderbilt’s first 30-point game against Kentucky since 1980. Jenkins has now scored 20 or more points in 14 games this year and 16 in his career. He scored 20 points against SEC West leader Alabama.

    Kentucky’s Terrence Jones was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 17.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 blocks in games against Tennessee and at Vanderbilt. Jones recorded his league-leading eighth double-double of the season against Tennessee. He tied season-high with four blocks against the Vols. The freshman tallied team-high 25 points at Vanderbilt and has scored in double-figures in four straight games and 16 of his last 17 games.
