    Alabama
The 21st-ranked Alabama women’s tennis team went 2-0 in its first home matches of the season last weekend to improve to 3-1 on the season. In Saturday’s contest, the Crimson Tide posted a 6-1 decision over Rice, while Sunday’s match resulted in a 7-0 sweep over SMU. Alabama continued its stellar doubles play, not dropping a match while collecting its third and fourth doubles points of the season, respectively. In the win over the Owls, it would be senior Taylor Lindsey clinching the win on court six, while Sunday’s win came at the hands of junior Alexa Guarachi on court two. Next up, Alabama will head to the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, February 24-26.

    Arkansas

Auburn was rained out in Lafayette on Saturday, but finally took the courts on Sunday in Monroe. Florida

Florida won two matches and lost one last week, when the team played perhaps the most anticipated regular-season matches in recent years. Stanford and Florida met during a planned regular-season outing for the first time in 19 years and the Cardinal took the 5-2 outcome on their home court, site of last year's NCAA Team Championship final which the Gators took, 4-3. Florida's loss to Stanford snapped the Gator's 26-match winning streak that dated back to Feb. 21, 2011, when Stanford defeated Florida, 4-2, in the ITA National Team Indoor Final. That was also the last time the Gators (5-1) had lost the doubles point prior to losing it on Sunday. Junior Allie Will, ranked No. 3 nationally in singles, extended her season-opening win streak to 11, while improving her career singles record to 94-10 overall and 56-3 in dual match action.

    Georgia
The Bulldogs (8-1) will return to action Friday at 2:30 p.m. when they play host to No. 55 Memphis (6-1), and on Sunday, Georgia welcomes No. 17 Clemson (7-2). Five Bulldogs are in the latest ITA singles rankings and one doubles team. Senior Chelsey Gullickson leads the group at No. 9 followed by sophomore Maho Kowase (No. 44), freshman Lauren Herring (No. 60), sophomore Kate Fuller (No. 80) and senior Nadja Gilchrist (No. 125). The Gullickson/Gilchrist duo checks in at No. 9 with a 13-4 record. Gullickson and Herring own a team-best 20-5 singles record while the Herring/Fuller team boasts a 20-8 record. The Georgia doubles tandem of Lilly Kimbell and Maho Kowase was named to the All-Tournament team for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.

    Kentucky
The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team hosted its final double header of the season, facing Eastern Kentucky and Evansville. The team started off play with Eastern, sweeping doubles to take the first point. In singles, freshmen Edmée Morin-Kougoucheff and Stephanie Fox once again proved their worth, defeating their opponents in straight sets with, 6-0, 6-0, results. With their help, the team grabbed a, 5-2, win over Eastern.  Kentucky ended the day against Evansville, where the Wildcats took every match for the, 7-0, victory. The Wildcats’ strong performances have put them at 8-1 on the season.

    LSU
LSU is currently riding a three match winning streak after they defeated both Tulane and San Diego last week to take their record to 4-2 on the season. Olivia Howlett and Yvette Vlaar have led the way for LSU recently as the pair has prevailed in its last two doubles matches in addition to each having emerged victorious from their prior three singles matches. Howlett has been the victor in 11 of her previous 16 matches. Vlaar has taken seven of her last 10 singles appearances. Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger have won three consecutive doubles matches together.
