LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – With a date with No. 1 Alabama looming next week, Arkansas took to the field on Saturday night against Louisiana-Monroe looking to add another victory to their record before the big SEC West showdown. After starting quarterback Tyler Wilson went down with a head injury in the first half, the No. 8 Razorbacks found themselves in a struggle with the Warhawks and eventually fell in overtime, 34-31.
Wilson tossed a pair of touchdowns in the first half to receivers Cobi Hamilton and Julian Horton, and running back Knile Davis found the end zone on a 3-yard run just before halftime to give Arkansas a 21-7 lead. Unfortunately for the Razorbacks, Wilson did not play in the second half after sustaining an injury.
Trailing 28-7 in the second half, UL-Monroe rallied off three consecutive touchdowns to tie the game and force overtime. After Arkansas kicked a field goal on its first possession of extra time, the Warhawks took a chance when their turn came around.
Trailing 31-28 and facing a 4th-and-1, the Warhawks elected not to go for the conversion instead of kicking a field goal to tie. Quarterback Kolton Browning reversed field and took the ball 16 yards into the end zone for the game winning score.
Browning was the hero for ULM on this night, finishing the game with 488 yards of total offense and four total touchdowns.
