NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After opening the season with two tough defeats against South Carolina and Northwestern, Vanderbilt returned home to Nashville on Saturday to take on Presbyterian. The Commodores flexed their muscle and took out some frustration on the Blue Hose, putting up 605 yards of offense on their way to a 58-0 shutout win.

Running back Zac Stacy set the tone in the early going for Vandy, busting loose on an 86-yard touchdown run. Stacy rounded out the first half with 140 yards on only four carries for the Commodores. As a team, Vandy racked up 234 yards on the ground in the first 30 minutes, and went into halftime with a commanding 27-0 lead.

The Commodores dominated the second half in the same manner that they handled the first half, holding Presbyterian to just 149 total yards and out-gaining the Blue Hose by 456 yards on the day.

Vanderbilt was able to amass an astounding 410 yards on the ground, with Stacy and fellow running back Brian Kimbrow each eclipsing the 100-yard mark individually. The Commodores will hit the road again next week for another Southeastern Conference showdown with No. 7 Georgia.
