BATON ROUGE, La. – Kenny Hilliard covered 116 yards on the ground on his way to two rushing touchdowns and No. 3 LSU handled business against Idaho to the tune of a 63-14 runaway victory over Idaho. With the win, the Tigers recorded their NCAA record 40th consecutive win against a non-conference opponent.
Zach Mettenberger and Alfred Blue accounted for a pair of first quarter touchdowns for LSU, and the Tigers never looked back. Mettenberger finished the day with 222 yards and two touchdowns, completing 74 percent of his passes.
LSU’s Jeremy Hill joined Hilliard in the two-touchdown club, finding the end zone twice while racking up 61 yards. The Tigers rushed for 250 yards as a team while holding Idaho to just 39 yards 26 rushing attempts.
LSU gets into SEC play next week when they travel to face Western Division foe Auburn in Jordan-Hare Stadium. LSU has now won 20 straight games at home.
