TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – No. 1 Alabama ran for over 200 yards for the third time in four games, and the Crimson Tide put away the Owls of Florida Atlantic by a final score of 40-7 in front of their home crowd.

Bama’s backfield duo of Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon continued their run of success this season as Lacy ran for 106 yards on the day and Yeldon chipped in with 63 yards of his own. The Tide covered 256 yards on the ground as a team, and they have now run for 100-plus yards in all four of their contests this season.

While the backs pounded FAU with the run, Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron turned in another efficient day for head coach Nick Saban. McCarron led the offense to 503 total yards while tossing three touchdown passes in the first half to pace the Tide attack.

With his 6-yard touchdown pass to Alex Deleon, FAU quarterback Graham Wilbert ended the Alabama defense’s bid for a third consecutive shutout. The touchdown marked the first time that the Bama defense had been scored on since the third quarter of its season-opening win over Michigan, a span of 12 quarters.
