AUBURN, Ala. – No. 2 LSU traveled to Auburn for a Saturday night tilt at Jordan-Hare Stadium, and Les Miles’ team battled its way to a 12-10 victory. LSU was led by 183 yards on the ground, and the (LSU) Tiger defense held off the (Auburn) Tiger offense in the final minute of the game to preserve a win and remain undefeated.
LSU rode the legs of Spencer Ware, who picked up 90 yards on the ground. Michael Ford and Kenny Hilliard combined for 82 more yards and a touchdown on 18 total carries for LSU.
Zach Mettenberger was limited to just 169 yards through the air by the Auburn defense, but Kiehl Frazier was unable to get it going either, only amassing 97 yards for the game on 13 completions. Frazier was picked off twice by the LSU defense, and while Mettenberger managed to avoid and turnovers on the evening.
LSU improves to 4-0 on the year, and the win over Auburn marks the first conference win of the 2012 season..
