FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks faced off with Big East foe Rutgers on Saturday night and were bested at home by the Knights, 35-26. Rutgers used 526 yards of offense – 397 through the air – to come back from a 10-point first half deficit and hand the Razorbacks their third loss of the season.
Tyler Wilson and Gary Nova had a quarterbacking duel, with Nova doing just enough to secure the win for the Knights. Nova finished with 397 yards and five touchdown passes, while Wilson’s 419-yard effort to go along with three touchdowns was not enough on this night.
Rutgers (4-0) also depended heavily on the services of running back Jawan Jamison, who carried the ball 33 times for 118 yards. The Razorbacks (1-3, 01 SEC) were out-rushed 129 yards to 73, and committed seven penalties for 65 yards.
Cobi Hamilton caught all three of Wilson’s touchdown tosses, and racked up an astounding 303 yards of receiving on only 10 receptions. Like Wilson’s effort, Hamilton’s production was not even to lift Arkansas to a home win.
