
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The four equestrian programs of the Southeastern Conference continue to maintain the top-four spots in the latest equestrian coaches poll, it was announced Wednesday.
Georgia holds the nation’s top-ranked spot for the third consecutive poll, boasting a 2-0 record and coming off a 14-10 win at Baylor last week. South Carolina again checks in at No. 2 this week. The Gamecocks, who did not compete last week, are 2-0 on the season and defeated Auburn at home on Oct. 4.
Auburn improved to 2-1 last week with an 11-9 conference win against Texas A&M last Saturday. The Tigers are ranked No. 3 in this week’s poll, while the Aggies are tied with Oklahoma State for the No. 4 spot in the latest poll.
The collegiate coaches competing under the National Collegiate Equestrian Association’s umbrella initiated the national poll. The poll will be released bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Oct.31.
The inaugural SEC equestrian championships are set to take place March 29-30, 2013 at Auburn, Ala.
