NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 1 Alabama racked up 539 yards of offense on the road and the Crimson Tide took down Tennessee by a final score of 44-13 at Neyland Stadium on Saturday night. AJ McCarron was stellar for the Tide (7-0, 4-0 SEC), throwing for over 300 yards and four touchdowns in the runaway victory.
Freshman running back T.J. Yeldon set the tone on the ground for Alabama, rushing for 129 yards on the evening on only 15 carries. Yeldon found the end zone twice, and four other Bama runners chipped in to total 233 yards as a team. On the other side of the ball, Tennessee was limited to only 79 yards rushing by the Tide defense.
At wide-out, Amari Cooper had 162 yards and two scores for the Tide and Kevin Norwood and Michael Williams also found the end zone through the air.
Prolific quarterback Tyler Bray did not throw a touchdown pass for Tennessee (3-4, 0-4 SEC) on Saturday night, completing only 13 passes and throwing two interceptions. Marlin Lane picked up 15 yards on the ground for the Vols, and Justin Hunter caught four passes for 70 yards in the loss.
