BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Seven Southeastern Conference soccer players have been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District First-Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Capital One District IV Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team (SEC honorees)

• Gabrielle Gilbert, South Carolina, Jr., 3.95 GPA, Exercise Science
• Danielle Au, South Carolina, Jr., 3.92 GPA, International Business/Management
• McKenzie Barney, Florida, Sr., 3.77 GPA, Telecommunication Production
Capital One District VI Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team (SEC honorees)
