    SEC Men's Basketball Players Of The Week

    Ole Miss’ Murphy Holloway, a 6-foot-7, 240-pound senior forward from Irmo, S.C., was named SEC Player of the Week after scoring averaging 19.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in leading the  Rebels to wins over McNeese State and Lipscomb. Holloway became the 34th player in Ole Miss history to score 1,000 career points with a 15-point performance against McNeese State. He scored a season-high 23 points and pulled down eight boards in just 24 minutes  against Lipscomb. He shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the field again McNeese State and 80.0-percent for the week to raise his SEC-best FG percentage to 71.7 for the season.

    Kentucky’s Archie Goodwin, a 6-foot-4, 198-pound freshman guard from Little Rock, Ark., was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 25.0 points 7.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists in wins over Morehead State and LIU Brooklyn. Goodwin logged a career-high 28 points in a win over Morehead State to begin the week. It is the seventh-most points in a game for a UK freshman in the history of the program and the most by any UK player this season. He then followed that performance by nearly charting the second triple-double in school history. He posted a team-high 22 points to accompany career-highs in assists (9) and rebounds (9).
