    SEC SWIMMING AND DIVING ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

    SEC FEMALE SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
    Amber McDermott, Georgia

    McDermott won two individual events in Georgia's sweep of North Carolina State and Savannah College of Art & Design. She won the 500 freestyle in 4:58.12 and took first in the 1,000 freestyle in 10:04.19. McDermott also led off the 800 freestyle relay that came in third in 7:38.20. Saturday's meet marked McDermott's first action since suffering a wrist injury in mid-November.

    SEC FEMALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
    Jodie McGroarty, Tennessee
    R-Sr. • Sheffield, England


    During action at the Tennessee Diving Invitational, McGroarty won the 3-meter board (331.55 points) for the third time this season. She has posted a score of at least 325 five times this season. McGroarty was the runner-up on the 1-meter board (295.30 points) and has scored above 295 four times this year.

    SEC FEMALE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
    Hali Flickinger, Georgia
    Spring Grove, Pa.


    Flickinger won three individual events and was victorious on one relay in Georgia's sweep of North Carolina State and Savannah College of Art & Design. She swept the butterfly races, taking the 100 in 55.81 and the 200 in 1:59.49 and won the 200 backstroke in 1:59.38. Flickinger led off the 200 freestyle relay that won in 1:34.63.

    SEC MALE DIVER OF THE WEEK
    Brent Sterling, Tennessee
    Sr. • Knoxville, Tenn.


    Sterling posted his second-best career score in the 3-meter prelims (394.45) during action at the Tennessee Diving Invitational. His 370 points in the final gave him a top-four finish in a meet that featured 11 schools. Sterling scored 315.40 points on the 1-meter board and had a career-best outing on the platform.

    SEC MALE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
    Chase Kalisz, Georgia
    Bel Air, Md.


    Kalisz won three events and made his Georgia debut as a mid-year enrollee as the Bulldogs swept North Carolina State and Savannah College of Art & Design. He won the 200 butterfly in 1:50.33, the 200 breaststroke in 1:59.58 and the 200 individual medley in 1:48.61. Kalisz swam the second leg of the 800 freestyle relay that placed third in 6:50.47.
