LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky track and field teams produced an exciting evening of results to open the home season on Friday at the Kentucky Invitational inside Nutter Field House.
The Wildcats’ ‘B’ relay team took the women’s distance medley relay as Allison Peare went out with a great opening 1,200-meter split alongside cross country All-American Cally Macumber, who was competing for the Kentucky ‘A’ squad. Shiara Robinson and Mary Kate Ponder ran the 400 and 800m legs respectively position the squad perfectly for the final stages of the race.
Oswald took the baton from Ponder and quickly pulled away from the field to give Kentucky “B” the win going away.
Check back later for a full recap of day one at the Kentucky Invitational.
The action gets back underway on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. ET with the women’s 3,000m and triple jump.
Live streaming video and results will be available on UKathletics.com.
