Player of the Week
Romain Bogaerts • Mississippi State
Freshman • Huppaye, Belgium
• Is 4-0 for the season, with three of those wins coming at the No. 1 position in the Mississippi State singles lineup.
• His biggest win came in a 7-5, 7-6(6) victory against Auburn’s top senior, 74th-ranked Andreas Mies.
• The victory clinched the Bulldogs 4-3 victory against the No. 21 Tigers and sent Mississippi State to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the first time since 1999.
• In doubles, Bogaerts paired up with fellow true freshman Pedro Dumont to earn two victories so far this season.
• The duo were a game away from defeating LSU’s Boris Arias and Olivier Borsos before MSU clinched the doubles point with victories on courts 1 and 2.
• Bogaerts is the first freshman since Per Nilsson took over as head coach in 2008 to start 3-0 at the No. 1 position.
