    Men's Golf Tied for Ninth After Day One of Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

    Round One Results

    MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team concluded day one of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, shooting 23-over-par and are tied for ninth in the 16-team field. The invitational, which is being played at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course, was suspended in the middle of the second round due to darkness and the tournament will resume at 9:30 a.m. ET with the conclusion of rounds two and three.

    “We got off to a horrendous start today on a very windy and challenging day,” head coach Brian Craig said. “We hung in there and showed great character. There are still four holes left in the second round and we need to stay focused and finish off a solid round tomorrow.”

    Senior Chase Parker had an impressive first day on the course and is currently tied for second overall at 1-under-par and is just one stroke off the leader. The Augusta, GA., native was tied for 16th after round one with a score of 2-over, including two birdies and an eagle on the par-4 hole No. 10. Parker came out on fire in the second round, sinking four birdies and is 3-under-par through 11 holes.

    Junior transfer Ben Stow made his Kentucky debut and is tied for 19th at 4-over-par. Stow recorded two birdies over the first 18 holes and has played even par through 12 holes in round two, while tallying two more birdies on holes 10 and 11.

    Sophomore Will Bishop is through 13 holes in the second round and is tied for 54th at 10-over. Juniors Cody Martin (+11) and Stephen Powers (+12) are tied for 60th and 65th, respectively.

    The 36-hole USA Individual Tournament was also underway on Monday at the Magnolia Grove Falls Golf Course in Mobile Ala. After 18 holes, senior Wildcat Joseph Barr is tied for fifth in the event at 2-over-par. Freshman Harrison Greenberry is tied for 20th at 8-over and junior Matthew Anderson is tied for 31st at 12-over.

    Play of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate will resume on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. ET with round two of the 54-hole stroke-play tournament followed by the final round of 18. The final round of the USA Individual Tournament will also conclude on Tuesday.
