Missouri’s Alex Oriakhi, a 6-foot-9, 255-pound senior forward from Lowell, Mass., was named SEC Player of the Week after averaging 18 points, 6.5 rebounds and three blocks in wins over South Carolina and LSU. Oriakhi recorded his 10th double-double of the season in the win against LSU. It's the most double-doubles for a Tiger since Linas Kleiza grabbed 10 in 2004-05. Oriakhi finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. He opened the week a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the foul line vs. South Carolina. He scored 18 points against the Gamecocks and did not miss a shot in two meets vs. USC. Oriakhi hit 15-of-17 shots (.882) in wins against South Carolina and LSU. Oriakhi is now in the Top 10 for blocked shots in a season at Mizzou. Oriakhi has 47 following today's game, ninth all time.

Vanderbilt’s Kevin Bright, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound freshman guard from Mannheim, Germany, was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 12.5 points and seven rebounds in wins over Georgia and at Auburn. Bright was 8-14 from the floor for the week (.571), and 7-12 from three (.583), with his only two-point basket a game winner against Georgia with 0.8 seconds remaining to give the Commodores a 63-62 win.
