    SEC Equestrian Riders of the Month (March 28, 2013)

    SEC Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month: Katherine Schmidt, South Carolina

    •    Went 6-0 during the month of March in hunt seat action, including a 3-0 tally in equitation over fences.
    •    Won back-to-back points against top-10 opponents on the road in consecutive days, earning MVP honors at Oklahoma State.
    •    In her win at Kansas State, she had the team-high score (84) and the second-highest score of the event.
    •    In her win at Oklahoma State, she had the team-high score and the event-high score (85), and was one of only two riders to score higher than 80 in the event.
    •    Posted 16 regular-season wins for the second consecutive year, including eight wins in equitation over fences for the second year in a row.

    SEC Equitation On The Flat Rider of the Month: Carly Anthony, Georgia
    •    Posted a pair of wins in March, defeating opponents from UT-Martin and then-No. 6 Texas A&M.
    •    Defeated her opponents by an average of 5.0 points and had an average score of 87.0 for the month.
    •    Went 2-0 with a road conference win against Texas A&M.
    •    Posted her third-best score of 87 in both competitions.
    •    Defeated her opponents from UT-Martin by seven.
    •    Earned MVP honors against UT-Martin, bringing her season total to four.

    SEC Horsemanship Rider of the Month: Laura Brainard, Texas A&M
    •    Went 2-0 against the nation’s top-two teams – Georgia and Auburn – in the month of March.
    •    Earned her fourth MVP honor of the season against Auburn, helping guide the Aggies to their first-ever SEC overall win vs. the Tigers.
    •    Owns a team-best and SEC horsemanship-best four MVPs in all meets, plus an SEC horsemanship-best three MVPs in conference competition.
    •    Her 76.5 score vs. Auburn ranks third among Texas A&M horsemanship riders this season and her 75.5 vs. Georgia ranks fifth.

    SEC Reining Rider of the Month: Indy Roper, Auburn
    •    Went a perfect 3-0 during the month of March, picking up road victories against opponents from three top-10 teams.
    •    Earned MVP honors against Texas A&M in Bryan, winning by eight points.
    •    Four of her five MVP honors during the season came against SEC teams, including two on the road.
    •    Posted an average score of 74.3 over the month of March.
