Auburn Kicks Off Second Half of Spring Practice

    April 10, 2013

    By Charles Goldberg

AUBURN — Videos have been analyzed. Players have been through meetings. Something of a lineup has been developed.

But now break time is over for Auburn. The Tigers returned to the practice field today for the first time since Saturday's scrimmage after spending the last few days reviewing the first half of spring practice.

The second half kicked off this morning with running back Tre Mason watching from the sidelines, still out with an injury. Receiver Trovon Reed, who missed Saturday's scrimmage because of a family issue, was back at practice.

One slight change in the routine: The quarterbacks threw more consecutive passes in the short passing drills. Some passing details, in order of appearance:

    Jonathan Wallace to Corey Grant
    Wallace to Jaylon Denson
    Wallace to Cameron Artis-Payne
    Kiehl Frazier to Grant
    Frazier to Grant
    Frazier to Sammie Coates
    Frazier to Coates
    Frazier to Grant

Celebrity observers included former quarterback Stan White and former Auburn offensive coordinator -- and former Arkansas and Jacksonville State head coach -- Jack Crowe.

Cam Newton wasn't on the field, but was in the athletic building in the early hours.

Check back for a post-practice report.
