Four SEC Athletes On Latest Men’s Bowerman Watch List

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  Four Southeastern Conference student-athletes are on the latest men’s Watch List for The Bowerman, collegiate track and field’s highest honor, in the first outdoor edition of that list, released on Wednesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Bowerman, which debuted in 2009, is presented annually by the USTFCCCA to the most outstanding male and female collegiate track and field athletes in the nation.

SEC student-athletes on the latest Watch List include Florida’s Marquis Dendy, Arkansas’ Kevin Lazas, Florida’s Eddie Lovett and Texas A&M’s Ameer Webb. Texas A&M’s Sam Humphreys also is receiving mention for the honor.

Bill Bowerman served the sport of track and field in numerous ways. His leadership in the USTFCCCA’s predecessor organization, the National Collegiate Track Coaches Association, and his contributions to NCAA track and field and the running community as a whole are among his many lasting legacies.
