NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee women’s tennis team kicked off their three game road trip with a 5-0 win Thursday afternoon over Tennessee State in Nashville.
With the win the Lady Vols improve to 11-8 on the season.
UT let up just one game on the day during the match, routing the Tigers at No. 1, 2 and 4 singles by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Mimi Fotopoulos got the start at No. 1 singles on the day while Jesse Grace and Kayla McMurry earned their second victories of the year with No. 2 and No. 4 singles sweeps.
At No. 3 singles, Sarah Toti bested her Tennessee State counterpart 6-1, 6-0 and rounding out the day, Caitlyn Williams was up 1-0 in the first set before her Tiger opponent retired at No. 5 singles.
The Lady Vols will continue their road trip when they head to Tuscaloosa on Friday late afternoon meeting with the No. 8 Crimson Tide beginning at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT.
