AUBURN, Ala. – Three Auburn fans have been named finalists for the “Final Roll Call” Contest which asked fans to make videos to show the uniqueness of the Auburn Tradition, rolling the Auburn Oaks at Toomer’s Corner. Martin Cadenhead of Germantown, Md., Justin Cazana of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mark Stewart of Cleveland, Tenn., will all be treated to view the A-Day game in the Director of Athletics suite at Jordan-Hare Stadium and their videos will be seen on the AUHD video board.
The videos tell a story of what the Auburn Oaks mean to each family. For one it is the memory of proposing marriage to his wife, for another it is passing the tradition on to his young children and for the last it’s about a fan base coming together to find a lost wallet under a sea of toilet paper. Each story is just a small sampling of the Auburn Family memories of rolling Toomer’s Corner dating back to the 1950s.
The finalists also will be treated to a pregame tour of the Jordan-Hare Stadium facilities and be on-field during pregame festivities. Each of the videos will air at halftime with the winner being announced on the field.
Celebrate the Tradition
On Saturday, April 20, at 5 p.m. after the A-Day game, fans will gather in downtown Auburn for one last rolling of the Auburn Oaks at Toomer’s Corner. The trees are slated to be removed on Tuesday, April 23. The festivities include a spirit rally, last rolling and live music from Kidd Blue until approximately 8:30 p.m. Tiger Transit shuttles will run until 7 p.m.
