AUBURN — Another Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback checked out Auburn's spring practice today.

Pat Sullivan, who won the award at Auburn in 1971 and is Samford's head coach, watched the drill. Cam Newton, who won it in 2010, had watched several practices earlier.

As usual, the practice early special teams work. Then Gus Malzahn ordered up his pace drill for the offense. Kiehl Frazier was the first up at quarterback, then Jonathan Wallace.

The pace drill, with little time between plays, went like this:

    With Frazier:
    Frazier pass to Quan Bray
    Corey Grant running play
    Frazier pass to Trovon Reed
    Grant running play
    Frazier run

    With Wallace
    Cameron Artis-Payne run
    Artis Payne run
    Wallace pass to Sammie Coates
    Artis-Payne run
    Artis-Payne run

Auburn added blackout fencing to the existing fence surrounding the practice field after the first week of spring drills. Passersby can no longer see in.
