    MSU’s Nick Ammirati extended his hitting streak to five games with three multi-hit games in State’s series win against Auburn. H went 6-for-11 (.545) and drove in three runs against the Tigers. Drove in MSU’s lone run with a ninth-inning single in a 3-1 loss. He singled twice, scored twice and drove in two runs in MSU’s series-clinching Game 3 win.

    Aaron Nola • LSU
    Sophomore • RHP  • Baton Rouge, Louisiana

    Sophomore right-hander Aaron Nola fired his second consecutive complete game and his first career shutout Friday night when he blanked Alabama, 5-0, in Tuscaloosa. Nola limited the Tide to just three singles while recording one walk and 10 strikeouts. He threw 110 pitches, and  after allowing a leadoff single in the sixth inning, he retired the final 12 Alabama batters of the game. The shutout was LSU’s first in an SEC game since Kevin Gausman blanked Tennessee on May 13, 2011.

    Wahl pitched the first complete-game of his career in a shutout of Tennessee on Friday night to set the tone for a road sweep by the Rebels. The right-hander improved to 8-0 on the season through 10 starts with the win and set the table for Ole Miss to pick up a second consecutive series sweep in Southeastern Conference play. Wahl only allowed two base runners to advance past second, both aided by defensive errors in the outing, but kept the Vols off the board. Wahl held a no-hitter into the sixth inning before giving up a one-out single up the middle to a batter who was erased on a double play in the next at bat.

    Freshman left-hander Jack Wynkoop hurled a career-high eight innings to pick up his fifth win of the season in the 3-1 win over Kentucky on Sunday.  In only his third start vs. a SEC team, Wynkoop scattered nine hits and allowed just one run, unearned, while not walking a batter and striking out three. Wynkoop is 5-2 with a 3.12 ERA in 12 appearances.
