PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Former Auburn golfer Jason Dufner on Sunday captured his first major golf title, claiming the PGA Championship with a two-stroke win over Jim Furyk at Oak Hill Country Club.
Dufner entered Sunday's final round trailing Furyk by one shot, but took a two-shot lead at the turn and maintained his advantage for the victory.
For Dufner, the title is his third on the PGA Tour. He finished the event with a 10-under-par 270 with a two-under score of 68 on Sunday.
The 36-year-old Dufner is a 2000 Auburn graduate and a three-time All-Southeastern Conference selection (1997, 1998, 2000).
