    Four SEC Teams Ranked In USTFCCCA Preseason Poll

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Four Southeastern Conference cross country teams are ranked among the nation’s top-25 according to the preseason edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Coaches Poll, released Tuesday morning by the New Orleans-based organization.

    On the men’s side, Arkansas checks in at a tie for No. 5 nationally, while Florida is No. 23. Men’s teams Georgia, Alabama and Missouri also are receiving votes. On the women’s side, Arkansas is ranked No. 9, while Vanderbilt is No. 20. Women’s teams Georgia, Florida and Texas A&M all are receiving votes.

    Oklahoma State is the nation’s top-ranked team on the men’s side, while Northern Arizona is No. 2 and Colorado is No. 3.

    Providence is the nation’s top-ranked team on the women’s side, while Florida State is No. 2 and Oregon is No. 3.

    Many of the SEC’s cross country teams begin their 2013 campaigns this weekend.

    The 2013 SEC Cross Country Championships are scheduled to take place Friday, November 1 in Gainesville, Fla.
