    Western Kentucky spoiled Mark Stoops debut as head coach at Kentucky, as the Hilltoppers beat the Wildcats 35-26 on Saturday night in Nashville.

    The Hilltoppers led throughout the game, and Kentucky never got closer than four points.

    Maxwell Smith came on in the second half to give Kentucky a lift, hitting on eight-of-14 passing for 125 yards and a touchdown to Demarco Robinson.

    Kentucky returns to action next week against Miami (Ohio).
