    South Carolina Tops Vanderbilt, 35-25

    South Carolina scored the game's first 28 points, then held on late to beat Vanderbilt 35-25 in Columbia on Saturday night.

    The Gamecocks scored touchdowns on each of their first four possessions in the game, including a pair of touchdown passes from Connor Shaw.

    Shaw had a big game for South Carolina, passing for 284 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for 84 yards to lead the team.

    Vanderbilt got within 35-25 with 13:59 remaining, but could not get any closer despite having several scoring chances.
