BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Each of the four equestrian programs of the Southeastern Conference are ranked among the nation’s top-10, including each of the top three spots, according to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association’s 2013-14 Preseason Rankings, announced Monday by the NCEA Selection Committee.
Georgia is the nation’s top-ranked team after finishing as the overall national runner-up a year ago. Auburn, which won the 2013 NCEA Overall and Hunt Seat National Titles, checks in at No. 2 in the preseason rankings.
South Carolina, the first-ever SEC Equestrian Champion in 2013, is ranked No. 3 in the preseason, while Texas A&M checks in at No. 6.
The 2013-14 collegiate equestrian season officially begins Friday, Sept. 20 when South Carolina plays host to Kansas State.
The 2014 NCEA Championships take place April 17-19, 2014 in Waco, Texas, marking the first year one championship will be contested, rather than separate championships by disciplines.
The 2014 SEC Equestrian Championships are slated for March 28-29, 2014 in Blythewood, S.C.
