    SEC Volleyball Players Of The Week

    The Southeastern Conference announced its most recent volleyball players of the week on Monday, recognizing outstanding performances from another week of action around the league.

    SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
    Whitney Billings
    Right Side, Kentucky
    6-1  • Sr. •  Helena, Ala.
     
    • Had 25 kills, 12 digs, a season-high five blocks and a .467 attack-percentage in an upset win over No. 4 Minnesota 
    • Posted double digit digs in each match last week
    • Passed the 1,000 career-digs plateau with 11 scoops vs. Louisville; became the sixth player in program history to amass 1,000 career kills and digs    
     
    SEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
    Jazzmin Babers
    Middle Blocker, Texas A&M
    6-2  • Fr. • Charleston, Ill.
     
    • Earned all-tournament team honors at the Texas A&M Invitational, which included No. 7 Michigan and No. 16 Florida State 
    • Had a career and match-high 11 blocks vs. Michigan
    • Tallied six blocks in a sweep of Florida State, including back-to-back swats to clinch the 27-25 victory in set one   
     
    SEC CO-FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
    Anni Thomasson
    Outside Hitter, Kentucky
    6-0  • Newark, Ohio
     
    • Provided a spark on the floor for the Wildcats as UK defeated No. 4 Minnesota and Louisville who is receiving votes in the AVCA poll   
    • Had double-doubles in two of three matches last week, including a career-high 13 kill, 16-dig performance in the win over Louisville
    • Her 3.08 digs per frame was second only to UK’s starting libero; was served at 41 times last week with no errors
     
    SEC CO-FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
    Briana Holman
    Middle Blocker, LSU
    6-0  • DeSoto, Texas
     
    • Played a major role as LSU came back from a two-set deficit to end Miami’s 18-match home winning streak which dated back to 2011    
    • Had 12 kills and an SEC-high 14 blocks in the opener vs. Miami; also hit .476 in the five-set win
    • Averaged 2.40 kills and 2.20 blocks per set last week playing in three rotations

    • Allie Sawatzky (S, Texas A&M) – Named MVP of the Texas A&M Invitational; posted a triple-double (16 kills, 38 assists, 16 digs) vs. No. 7 Michigan
    • Meredith Hays (OH, Arkansas) – Named MVP of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Classic; averaged 5.00 kills and 2.20 digs per set last week
    • Lisa Henning (OH, Missouri) – Averaged 4.89 kills, 2.56 digs and 1.00 blocks in a 3-0 week for Mizzou; named to the Rice Invitational All-Tournament team
    • Katherine Culwell (OH, Auburn) – Posted double-doubles in two of four matches last week, tallied 19 kills and eight digs in a five-set loss to Notre Dame
    • Ty Laporte (MB, Ole Miss) – Recorded a team-high 17 blocks in a 3-1 week for Ole Miss; named to the TCU Nike/Molten Invitational All-Tournament team
    • Živa Recek (OH, Florida) – Tallied her 12th career double-double (21 kills, 10 digs) vs. Western Michigan; named MVP of the Active Ankle Challenge
    • Krystal Rivers (MB, Alabama) – Averaged 3.46 kills per set with a .527 hitting percentage in four matches; named MVP of the Hampton Inn Bama Bash 
    • Brittany Northcutt (OH, Georgia) – Led the Bulldogs with 35 kills in a 4-0 week for UG; named MVP of the Benson Hospitality Group Invitational
    • Carly Kan (OH, Missouri) – Averaged 3.11 kills and 3.22 digs per set in an undefeated week for Missouri; earned Rice Invitational All-Tournament team honors
    • Chelsea Duhs (MB, Mississippi State) – Averaged 3.46 kills and 1.00 blocks last week; hit .733 vs. Wofford and garnered MVP honors at the Bulldog Invitational
    • Summer Morgan (MB, Arkansas) – Blocked a career-high 10 shots vs. Texas State, averaged 2.20 blocks and 1.50 kills per set last week
    • Sarah Wroblicky (L, Auburn) – Had 25 digs in a five-set loss to Notre Dame, matching the highest total by an Auburn player in the last two years
    • Jacqy Angermiller (MB, South Carolina) – Recorded 17 blocks last week (1.70 blocks per set), including nine vs. Duke
    • Ana Sofia Jusino (MB, Arkansas) – Had eight kills and hit .800 (8-0-10) in a win over Northern Colorado; finished the week with 12 total blocks (1.20 bps)
    • Sarah Meister (L, Missouri) – Averaged 4.67 digs and 0.78 assists per set last week; recorded a season-high 18 digs in a sweep of NC State
    • Allison Summers (L/DS, Georgia) – Tallied 71 total digs last week (5.07 digs per set); averaged 1.29 assists and 0.43 aces per set 
    • Roxanne McVey (L, Mississippi State) – Posted a season-high four service aces against Niagara Friday; averaged 5.85 digs , 0.62 assists and 0.62 aces per set
    • Aubrey Edie (S, Ole Miss) – Was a defensive presence in the Rebels’ four matches last week, recording 1.00 blocks per set
    • Jamie Lea (MB, Tennessee) – Had a career-high 24 kills vs. East Tennessee State; averaged 3.07 kills and 0.93 digs per set last week
    • Alex Holston (RS, Florida) – Tallied a career-best 13 kills vs. Iona; hit .460 over the week and helped UF win the Active Ankle Challenge
