    SEC Cross Country Athletes of the Week (Sept. 17, 2013)

    Men’s Runner of the Week: Jimmy Clark, Florida
    • Notched the seventh top-10 finish of his career at Florida and won just his second race in his three years competing as a Gator.
    • Ran a career-best mark in the men’s 8K (23:53.78), topping his previous best from the 2012 Pre-National Meet by nearly 35 seconds (24:27.40), finishing first in the field of 230 collegiate men’s athlete at the Mountain Dew Invitational.
    • Helped lead the Florida men’s squad to its eighth Mountain Dew Invitational title in the past nine years with a score of 33 points, topping three other SEC competitors at the meet and giving UF its second invite title of the season.
    • Posted the fourth-fastest 8K time ever run at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.

    Women’s Runner of the Week: Cally Macumber, Kentucky
    • Named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week on Sept. 16.
    • Posted the SEC’s leading 5K time of 16:32.10, winning a commanding victory by a 26-second margin on her home course to win the Kentucky Bluegrass Invitational.
    • Cruised through the 5K course at an average mile page of 5:19, outpacing a field that included runners from No. 21 Oklahoma State and 2012 NCAA Division I Outdoor 5,000m All-American Ann Easton of Eastern Kentucky, who finished second.
    • Macumber’s personal-best 5K cross country time was nearly two minutes faster than her performance two weeks earlier at the Belmont Opener.

    Men’s Freshman Runner of the Week: Carlos Miranda, Florida
    • Ran his first collegiate 8K, turning in a time of 25:10.10.
    • Scored fifth for the Gators for the second consecutive week as part of the UF scoring corps.
    • Was the top freshman to cross the finish line at the Mountain Dew Invitational and one of just two freshmen among the top-25 finishers, and the only one from the SEC.
    • Helped lead the Florida men’s squad to its eighth Mountain Dew Invitational title in the past nine years with a score of 33 points, topping three other SEC competitors at the meet and giving UF its second invite title of the season.
    • Finished 20th overall among a field of 230 participants.

    Women’s Freshman Runner of the Week: Veronica Eder, Auburn
    • Currently holds the top freshman time in the SEC at the women’s 6K distance, clocking a time of 21:30.96 to place fourth overall at the Mountain Dew Invitational this past weekend in Gainesville, Fla.   
    • Helped her team finish in a tie for first place with fellow SEC team Tennessee. The race also consisted of league squads Florida, LSU and South Carolina.
    • Led five Auburn runners who all posted personal bests and finished among the race’s top-25.
