NEW YORK, NY (September 25, 2013) — The latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division I College Coaches’ Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Alabama, victorious in its 2013-14 season opener at Olympia Fields, kept hold of the top spot in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf men's Division I coaches' poll. The defending NCAA champions won their seventh straight event dating back to last spring when they claimed the Fighting Illini Invitational title by 18 strokes. The Crimson Tide earned 16 of the 21 available first-place votes.

Georgia Tech, coming off back-to-back victories at the Carpet Capital Classic and the Tar Heel Intercollegiate that helped them garner three first-place votes, claimed the No. 2 spot in the poll, the highest the Yellow Jackets have been ranked since February 2006.

Rounding out the top five are Texas, Washington and California, who earned the remaining two first-place votes.

One new school joined the top 10: No. 10 Oklahoma, winner at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. The Sooners made the biggest move from the preseason poll, jumping from No. 23.

Three new schools moved into the top 25: UCF at No. 18, Arizona State with a share of No. 20 and Houston at No. 22.
