Matt Jones rushed 28 times for 176 yards and a touchdown as the Florida Gators beat the Kentucky Wildcats 24-7 on Saturday night in Lexington.
Tyler Murphy, who started at quarterback in place of the injured Jeff Driskel, played well in his first collegiate start. Murphy was 15-of-18 through the air for 156 yards and a touchdown, with one interception. Murphy also rushed seven times for 36 yards and a score.
Florida's defense was also stellar in the game. Florida held Kentucky to only 173 total yards in the game, and only 48 yards on the ground. Kentucky's only touchdown came on a fake field goal.
The game was tied at 7-7 after the first quarter, but Florida scored twice in the second quarter to lead 21-7 at the break.

Florida has now beaten Kentucky 27 straight times.
Joker Phillips, former head coach at Kentucky, returned to the Bluegrass as wide receivers coach for Florida.
