BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Each of the four equestrian programs of the Southeastern Conference are among the nation’s top six according to the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association rankings, which included results from the opening two weeks of competition and were released Thursday by the NCEA Selection Committee.
Georgia remains the nation’s No. 1 team following a 16-3 win against Fresno State on Sunday. Auburn downed Fresno State 15-2 on Saturday and stays at No. 2. South Carolina is 2-0 on the year and ranked No. 3 after wins against Kansas State and Fresno State. Texas A&M, which competes for the first time this weekend, is No. 6.
NCEA rankings will be released twice per month with the next announcement coming Monday, Oct. 14.
The 2014 SEC Equestrian Championships are slated for March 28-29, 2014 in Blythewood, S.C.
The 2014 NCEA Championships take place April 17-19 in Waco, Texas, marking the first year one championship will be contested, rather than separate championships by disciplines.
