Mississippi State jumped out to a 14-3 lead in the first quarter, but had to withstand a rally by Bowling Green in the second half, as the Bulldogs won 21-20 on Saturday in Starkville.

Dak Prescott, who shares quarterbacking duties with Tyler Russell, had a big game for MSU. Prescott rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns, including a 10-yard score in the third quarter that turned out to be the game-winner.

As a team, the Bulldogs rushed for 245 yards, which helped them overcome the lack of a passing attack in the game.

With the win, Mississippi State evens its record at 3-3, while Bowling Green falls to 5-2.
