LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Kentucky senior placekicker Joe Mansour excited the Commonwealth Stadium crowd a few weeks ago when he ran for a 25-yard touchdown on a fake field-goal attempt against highly ranked Florida. The play is now receiving national praise as the touchdown has been nominated for the 2013 GEICO Play of the Year, it was announced recently.
The voting for the GEICO Play of the Year is done through Facebook on the GEICO Best of College Football Fan Page. Each week for eight weeks, four plays are posted on the page for fans to vote on their favorite play. Voting is allowed once per day. The eight weekly winners advance to the finals, which begin Nov. 4. The 2013 GEICO Play of the Year will be revealed during the GEICO presents Best of College Football TV special on CBS on Friday, Nov. 29 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. ET.

UK-Alabama Ticket Update: Tickets for the UK-Alabama game on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium at 7 p.m. ET remain available (less than 1,000 remain). Cost is $75 for general admission tickets in the student section and scattered single-game tickets in various sections. Tickets are not available online and must be purchased over the phone (800-928-2287) or in person at the Joe Craft Center Ticket Office.
Fans Should Expect Several Honorees on Field During Saturday's Game: Kentucky fans will have the opportunity Saturday to not only cheer on the current UK football team against No. 1 Alabama, but also to honor some UK football legends.
On top of Saturday being Steve Meilinger Day, who will be honored in the second quarter for his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, UK will also recognize former Wildcats from 1973-81 that played under Coach Fran Curci in the first quarter.
The 2013-14 UK women's basketball team will also be introduced to UK fans during the first quarter, while donors to the renovation/expansion of the Gatton College of Business and Economics, along with leaders and faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences will be introduced between the first and second quater.

Between First and Second Quarters - Donors to the renovation/expansion of the Gatton College of Business and Economics, along with leaders and faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences

Cat Walk Set for Approx. 4:45 p.m. ET: Fans wishing to participate in the "Cat Walk," greeting the players when they enter Commonwealth Stadium should be at Gate 1 of the stadium, next to the Nutter Field House, at approx. 4:45 p.m. ET. Fans are encouraged to listen for the "air raid" sirens, alerting fans the Wildcats are on their way to Commonwealth Stadium.
