The Southeastern Conference released its soccer players of the week Monday, recognizing outstanding performances on the pitch after another week of action.
Alyssa Diggs, Missouri

Diggs tallied Mizzou’s ultimate game-winner in a 2-1 win over No. 7 South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 18. With the score tied at 1-1, Diggs unleashed a bending shot into the upper right corner of the net that beat the Gamecock keeper for a 2-1 score. The tally was Diggs’ third of the season and 17th of her Mizzou career.
Lauren Smith, Florida
M • 5-8 • So. • Eustis, Fla.
Smith helped anchor a defense that posted shutouts against 23rd-ranked Kentucky (3-0) and LSU (3-0). Smith turned in her first multi-goal match in the win over Kentucky. The first of two connections between Havana Solaun and Smith resulted in a goal in the seventh minute. Smith’s second goal came off a long, left-footed strike in the 56th minute.
Casie Ramsier, Auburn
F • 5-6 • Dallas, Texas
Ramsier was responsible for both of Auburn’s goals over the weekend against Tennessee (1-1) and Missouri (1-1), helping the Tigers earn two important points to stay in the race to make the SEC Tournament field. She now has a team-leading seven goals on the season and has scored three of the team’s four goals in conference play. Ramsier has started all 16 matches for the Tigers this year and responsible for over 20% (42) of all of Auburn’s shots in 2013 (198).
