STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Dak Prescott threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns as Mississippi State held off a late Kentucky charge on Thursday night to pick up their first conference win of the season, 28-22.

Jameon Lewis had another banner night for the Bulldogs (4-3, 1-2 Southeastern Conference), as the junior recorded touchdowns on the ground, as a receiver, and as a passer for the second time this season.  After getting the ball from Prescott in the 3rd quarter, Lewis found the wide open quarterback for a touchdown.
Mississippi State led 21-10 at the half, but a 67 second stretch in the 3rd quarter saw Kentucky (1-6, 0-4 Southeastern Conference) pull within two points at 21-19.  On the ensuing kickoff, the Wildcats appeared to pull of an onsides kick, but Kentucky's Daron Blaylock was ruled offsides.

Trailing 28-22 in the game's final minutes, the Wildcats had a chance to pull off the upset, but Maxwell Smith's 4th-and-7 pass fell incomplete and Mississippi State was able to run out the clock.

Up next, the Wildcats will host Alabama State next week and Mississippi State will travel to South Carolina.
