The Georgia Bulldogs raced out to a 20-0 lead, then held on in the fourth quarter, beating Florida 23-20 on Saturday in Jacksonville.
Todd Gurley put the Bulldogs on the board first with a five-yard touchdown run. He followed that with a 73-yard scoring reception from Aaron Murray to make it 14-0. A pair of Marshall Morgan field goals gave Georgia a 20-0 lead.
Florida got on the board in the second quarter on a Francisco Velez 31-yard field goal, but Marshall answered at the end of the half to make it 23-3.
The Gators tightened the game in the third quarter with a Mack Brown touchdown run, followed by a safety by the Florida defense that made the score 23-12.
Early in the fourth quarter, Tyler Murphy scampered in from 14 yards out, and the two-point conversion made it 23-20. But that would end the scoring, and Georgia would hold on for the victory.
