    Barrow Named To SEC Community Service Team

    LSU senior linebacker Lamin Barrow is the Southeastern Conference Football Community Service Team Player of the Week.

    Barrow participated in 199 hours of community service over the last school year with events such as Big Buddy Day of the Mentor, Christmas Party with Big Buddy youth, Touring with the Tigers, Children’s Hospital visit, and a semester long commitment to the Big Buddy program.

    He has been solid in the classroom and is on pace to earn his bachelor’s degree in general studies in December 2013.

    Barrow leads the team and ranks fifth in the Southeastern Conference with 75 total tackles through 10 games. He spearheaded LSU's best defensive performance of the season as the Tigers held then 17th-ranked Florida to two field goals, and Barrow finished the game with a career-high 13 tackles, including one for a 2-yard loss, and a pass breakup. He has led the team in tackles in five games this season. Barrow has played in 48 games in his career with 25 starts, and he has recorded 214 tackles and 12.5 tackles for loss in his career while serving as a team leader.
