BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Each of the four equestrian programs of the Southeastern Conference are ranked in the latest poll from the National Equestrian Coaches Association, its selection committee announced Monday.
South Carolina, which is 5-2 on the season and coming off a 12-6 win against Auburn, checks in at No. 2 nationally. Auburn, with a 3-1 record and a win against previous No. 1 Georgia, is No. 3. The Bulldogs check in at No. 4 following a narrow 10-9 win against Texas A&M and a 12-8 loss at Auburn. Texas A&M, which lost 10-9 to then-top-ranked Georgia, remains at No. 9.
NCEA rankings will be released twice per month.
The 2014 NCEA Championships take place April 17-19 in Waco, Texas, marking the first year one championship will be contested, rather than separate championships by disciplines.
The 2014 SEC Equestrian Championships are slated for March 28-29, 2014 in Blythewood, S.C.
