    Five SEC Teams Ranked In USTFCCCA Poll

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Five Southeastern Conference cross country programs are ranked among the nation’s top-30 according to the latest edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I National Coaches Poll, released Tuesday by the New Orleans-based organization.

    Each of the five ranked SEC teams has qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, to be contested November 23 at Terre Haute, Ind.

    Arkansas is the SEC’s highest-ranked men’s team, checking in at No. 10, while Georgia is No. 29 and Florida is No. 30.

    Arkansas is the nation’s third-ranked team on the women’s side and earned one first-place vote, while the Vanderbilt women are No. 25.

    Entering the NCAA Championships, Northern Arizona is the nation’s No. 1 men’s team, followed by Oklahoma State (No. 2) and Colorado (No. 3). Stanford (No. 4) and Oregon (No. 5) round out the men’s top-five.

    On the women’s side, Providence is the nation’s top-ranked team, followed by No. 2 Arizona and No. 3 Arkansas. Florida State (No. 4) and Colorado (No. 5) round out the women’s top-five.
