    SEC Women's Basketball Players Of The Week

    The Southeastern Conference released its women's basketball players of the week on Monday, recognizing outstanding performances on the court from around the league.

    Player of the Week
    Daisha Simmons • Alabama
    Junior • Guard
    • Had the top statistical performance for an Alabama player since 1995, recording a triple-double of 37 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Tide to a 113-105 overtime win over Troy.
    • It was the first triple-double in the league since 2010.
    • Her point, rebound and assist totals against the Trojans were all career highs.
    • The 37 points were the most scored by a junior in program history and the second-highest point total in a single game in the UA record books, one point shy of the record set by Amy Lannom in 1992.
    • Her 14 made free throws ties for the second-most in a single game in the Tide records.
    • Picked up her fourth foul with 14:27 to go in the second half and never fouled out.
    • Playing with four fouls didn’t faze Simmons as she had 24 of her 37 points, seven of her 11 rebounds and four of her 11 assists after the 14:27 mark of the second half.
    • The only SEC player to be ranked in the league in points, rebounds, assists and steals.
    • Finished the week averaging 25.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists in two games.

    Freshman of the Week
    Dominique Dillingham • Mississippi State
    Guard
    • In her first-career start, she tallied five points, five rebounds and a pair of steals as the Bulldogs claimed a road win at North Dakota State in one of the 10-toughest arenas in the nation to play.
    • Dillingham returned home and scored 17 points on  7-of-11 shooting, including 1-of-1 from 3-point range, and 2-for-2 at the line in just 20 minutes of action in the win over Southeastern Louisiana.
    • She also claimed three assists and three steals while blocking a shot. 
    • Against SELA, Dillingham scored 13 of her 17 points in a decisive first half on 5-of-7 shooting.
