    Florida Picked to Win 2014 SEC Women’s Tennis Title

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Southeastern Conference announced the women’s tennis coaches’ preseason poll, Friday.  Many of the teams begin action this weekend as dual season began, the official ITA kick-off weekend begins on January 24.

    The Florida Gators were picked as the overall champion.  Last season, the Gators went 26-3, 12-1 in the SEC.  They are currently ranked second in the ITA rankings.

    The preseason poll is voted on by the women’s tennis head coach at each institution and is based on a 14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote.  The team they vote in the number one spot gets their vote for overall champion, with each vote counting as one point.
